US rockers QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have finished writing songs for their follow-up album to last year's 'SONGS FOR THE DEAF'.
Frontman Josh Homme revealed that he and bearded bass player Nick Oliveri have already written a enough songs to fill a double album.
Homme said: "We’ve got 20 songs. They’re all written and the band understands how to play them. We’re just waiting for everyone to get sick of this record so we can make another one."
With the band currently touring the US with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and then travelling over the Atlantic to tour Europe, Homme said they may find it hard to fit recording into their busy schedule.
He added: "We end up touring so much, but we’re keen to have the record all finished by the end of the year, so a new Queens Of The Stone Age record should be out early next year. I got my fingers, legs and tongue crossed for that," he told XFM.
