Feb. 13, 2003 - MTV: Queens Of The Stone Age To Hold Court In A Neighborhood Near You
by Corey Moss
Judging from some their videos, the members of Queens of the Stone Age like to run into things with cars — and often.

While the hilarious clip for "No One Knows" followed the group as it hit a deer, Queens' follow-up video finds them coming up against another unexpected foe.

"This time it's a cow," bassist Nick Oliveri joked. "No, it's actually us playing chicken. We're going to drive to our deaths. Except Josh [Homme] lives."

The partly animated "Go With the Flow" video, directed by Shynola (Radiohead, U.N.K.L.E.), was, in part, inspired by bohemian author Henry Miller. The group, however, refused to elaborate.

"We came back after Australia, like a 22-hour flight, and went and painted ourselves completely black with an airbrush," Oliveri recalled. "It was a nightmare. I hated it. It looks really cool though."

Queens of the Stone Age, whose Songs for the Deaf was recently certified gold, will hit the road next week for a month-long U.S. trek and then return again in May.

The band will then join the Lollapalooza Tour with Jane's Addiction, Audioslave, Incubus, Jurassic 5 and others when it kicks off in July.
