queens came out for a late afternoon show at tower records. there was a pretty good turn out for this free show, all the buzz about the new record creating an electric atmosphere. the parking lot was full and tailgaters checked the action from across the street. the set began with the first song off the new record, millionaire. nick's screeching wail pretty much set the tone for a blistering warm up night for the tour. they sounded fu%^&$g incredible and the crowd responded. mark lanegan slithered onstage for a few of the new songs. his salt of the earth voice mixed with the bone crunching queens harmony was almost too much to handle. it just doesn't get any heavier than that.
